Samhain (/ˈsɑːwɪn/, /ˈsaʊ.ɪn/, or /ˈsaʊn/) is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the "darker half" of the year. It is celebrated from sunset October 31st - sunset November 1st. Along with Imbolc, Beltane and Lughnasadh it makes up the four Gaelic seasonal festivals. It was observed in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man.

Come celebrate the end of the harvest season, the beginning of winter and the thinning of the veil between the living and the dead in the traditional--or anyway you wish--way, with Kaitlin on the evening of October 25th in O'Cleary's pub.

Miniature bonfires will be cheerily a lit in the out door courtyard, while the Pub will be decorated with a mix of old and new decorations to both welcome those familiar with Samhain and All Hallows' Eve or Halloween. Carved Jack O'Lanterns in pumpkins and turnips dotted many areas inside and outside of the bar, patrons are welcome to come in costume to confuse the spirits--or simply to enjoy the frivolity with one another! There will be food a-plenty and drink specials for the duration of the event.

Candies for those familiar with them can be nabbed from the line of grinning jack 'o lanterns on the bar for those not too old for trick-or-treating themselves.

Samhain themed dishes from O'Cleary's Kitchens:
Stouts & Ales
Pumpkin Spice Stout
Jack 'O Lantern Ale
Sweet Potato Ale

The Samhain Slam Shots:
Grand Marnier, Irish Mist, Irish Wiskey, Scotch

Bloody Martini:
Raspberry vodka, fresh raspberries, black plum puree, splash of lime, symple syrup and a lime wedge for garnish

Non Alcoholic:
Green Batinis

Green lemonade garnished with paper black bats.

Orange Apple Cider Punch
Orange juice, raspberry juice, cranberry juice with a splash of mango mixed with sparkling grape juice. Served with choice of Orange, Black or Purple twizzler straw. The orange Apple Cider can be ladled from a large, bubbling cauldron at the bar.

Roasted Garlic Soup with Mushrooms and Wild Rice
Avocado Goat Cheese Dip with Whole-Wheat Pita Chips

Main dishes:
Pork Chops Stuffed with Apple, Pepper & Gorgonzola with Roasted Red Potatoes with Apple & Garlic
Spiced Pumpkin and Mushroom Risotto with Nut-crusted Chicken Stuffed with Apple and Brie
Nutty Quinoa with Apples and Mushrooms

Dark of the Moon Triple Chocolate Muffins
Chai-spiced Pumpkin Cheesecake

Spiced baked apples

Kaitlin will be at the bar serving drinks from 10PM until the witching hour of midnight.
